Peter Obi says he’s open to VP role

Former Anambra governor and Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, in an interview with New Central TV Obi emphasized that his primary ambition is to see Nigeria move forward, stating, “I’m not desperate to be Nigerian president. I am desperate to see Nigeria work.”

He expressed his readiness to support a candidate who shares his vision for a better Nigeria, saying, “If I see people who can do the work better, I will (consider being Vice President).”

When asked about his future political plans, Obi reaffirmed his commitment to the Labour Party, ruling out the possibility of defecting to another party. He, however, said he remains open to collaborations and mergers with like-minded politicians, provided their purposes align with his goals.

Obi stressed, “I will not join anybody for state capture or for winning the election. I want anybody to tell me how we are going to ensure that no child is left behind, how we are going to put those millions of out-of-school children back in school.”
