President Bola Tinubu has been commended for upgrading the Federal College of Education, Zaria to the Federal University of Education.
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas gave the commendation on Thursday through a statement he made available to journalists in Abuja.
The Speaker noted that President Tinubu has shown himself a detribalised leader who has demonstrated his unwavering love and support for the Nigerian education system.
He said the express approval for the upgrading of the institution is a show of courage, adding that it is a testament to the President’s determination to improve the Nigerian education system.
According to him, more Nigerians would have access to University education with the development, particularly those in the teaching line.
While congratulating the people of Kaduna State, the Governor, Uba Sani and the Emir of Zazzau, His Royal Highness, Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, hailed the governor for achievement and called for cooperation with the government to bring the University to fruition.
“I express my profound gratitude to all the critical stakeholders, whose efforts ensured the realisation of the Federal University of Education, Zaria. Their resilience and tenacity brought us to where we are today. I thank God that their efforts were capped successfully in the end.”
