Champions League: Bayern top, Man City in bottom half after Week 1 [Full table]


Bayern Munich sit atop of the Champions League table following the first round of fixtures this week.

Vincent Kompany’s men hammered Dinamo Zagreb 9-2 at home on Tuesday night.

It has been a good start for German clubs, with Bayer Leverkusen in third place and Borussia Dortmund fifth.

Aston Villa are the highest placed Premier League team, following their 3-0 win at Young Boys and Manchester City are 19th.

Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid both won 2-1, while Barcelona suffered a shock 2-1 defeat in Monaco.

After each club has played eight matches, the top eight move into the last 16 and those ranked between ninth and 24th go to the play-offs trying to join them.
