The Adegbodu twins are not new on the gospel turf. They have been around for over two-and-a-half decade and thus could smell when an artiste is there just for the money. They said, “not everyone who goes into gospel music is truly called,” adding, “majority of gospel singers go into music because of money and fame.”
According to them, “many are not called to sing gospel but because of the fame and money they rush into it.”The juju gospel singers, who get their inspiration from God, said, “there are many rookies in the industry singing all sorts of music and calling it gospel.”
According to them, before they were born, there was a revelation that they would be musicians, “which we have been doing professionally for 25 years with our first album launch in 1999.”
The duo, who were recently appointed by the Osun State governor, Ademola Adeleke, as special advisers on Entertainment and Tourism are set to open a multimillion audio/visual studio in Ibadan.
“The appointment was based on hard work and resilience,” they said. The twins are also set to celebrate their birthday on October 4 with plans to release a 50-track album, “first of its kind in the history of music.”
The twins were in Europe in March; where they visited Spain, France, Germany, Holland, while also visiting Jordan for pilgrimage in June this year. They only recently bagged an ambassadorial deal with Yes Fm 101.7 in Ibadan and are planning to host a concert next year, titled, ‘God concert’, where 10 gospel artiste and 10 Muslim artistes are to perform together on a stage.
Adegbodu Twins plan to launch ‘festival of light’ to honour Osun State Governor in December.
