QPR vs Hull predictions: Hoops set for first home success

Hull have burst into life in the Championship with back-to-back wins but a midweek trip to QPR is likely to be a tougher test for them than beating struggling Stoke and Cardiff.

The London side’s two league losses this season have been inflicted by the top two teams in the table and they should have high hopes of picking up a home victory in the 7.45pm kick-off.

QPR will be forced into at least one change as midfielder Jonathan Varane is suspended after being shown a red card at the end of the first half in Saturday’s defeat by Blackburn. Nicolas Madsen, who came on after Varane was dismissed, is a likely candidate to start in his place.

Jack Colback, Liam Morrison, Morgan Fox and Ilias Chair are still out due to injuries.

Hull are set to be missing Ryan Longman, Harvey Cartwright and Andy Smith, while Charlie Hughes and Thimothee Lo-Tutala are also likely to miss the trip to London.

Both teams have scored in nine of QPR’s 10 matches this season.

QPR have featured in four 1-1 draws already this season.

The R’s were heading into half-time with the game goalless at Ewood Park when Jonathan Varane was sent off, and playing with 10 men led to them failing to score for the first time this season.

Hull have shot up to 12th in the table thanks to their back-to-back wins, but they had taken only three points from their first five league matches. The quality of the teams they beat is also worth noting as Stoke and Cardiff have tallied just seven points between them.
