We won’t relent in flushing out bandits, terrorists in Nigeria – Chief of Army Staff Lagbaja

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja, has reinstated the military’s continuous onslaught against banditry and terrorism in the country.

Lagbaja stated this on Tuesday in Oziokutu, in the Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State, during the commissioning of the Chief of Army Staff Special Intervention Civil-Military Cooperation Project at the Model Primary Healthcare Centre.

Represented by the General Officer Commanding Two Division, Nigerian Army, Major General O.G. Onubogu, the Chief of Army Staff said, “We are on the lookout for bandits and terrorists who do not want the people of Kogi State to sleep.

“We are poised to ensure that we not only root out evil from the community, but we also provide support to make sure that our communities can thrive in peace.

“We are urging Nigerians to support all activities so that together we can defeat our common adversaries and overcome all security challenges within the country.”

He thanked President Bola Tinubu for his continuous strategic guidance and invaluable support to the Nigerian Army.

“I again reassure the nation of the unwavering loyalty of the officers and men of the Nigerian Army to the President and the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“I also want to reaffirm that under my leadership as Chief of Army Staff, the Nigerian Army will remain committed to pursuing both kinetic and non-kinetic lines of operation in collaboration with other security agencies,” he added.

On the newly commissioned Model Primary Healthcare Centre, Lagbaja emphasized that it will further foster strong relationships between the Army and the civilian populace.

According to him, “This is reflected in our activities, which are people-centric and well understood. It is necessary to also restate this in order to ensure that we are accepted and supported by the people we serve.

“Therefore, the commissioning of this Model Primary Healthcare Centre is intended to serve as a medium for the Nigerian Army to interact with the people of Ebira land and the Adavi community and to elicit all your support and cooperation as we carry out our constitutional responsibilities, particularly within Kogi State.”
