Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has awarded ₦4 million to four outstanding indigene students who excelled in the 2024 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination.
The recipients, Kawthar Shehu (348), Geoffrey Yakubu (347), Abdullahi Garba (347), and Magaji Umar (333), were celebrated during a ceremony held on Tuesday at the Ministry of Education in Bauchi.
Each student received ₦1 million to support their higher education ambitions.
Governor Mohammed, represented by the Head of Service, Yahuza Adamu, stated that the initiative aims to inspire other students to strive for academic excellence.
“This gesture demonstrates our administration’s commitment to investing in human capital development and encouraging outstanding academic performance,” he said.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Ali Babayo, revealed that the idea was initiated by the ministry to motivate students across the state.
