Nasarawa Polytechnic expels 100 students for examination malpractices

The management of the Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa, has expelled 100 students for their alleged involvement in examination malpractices during the 2023/2024 academic session.

The announcement was made by the Acting Rector, Dr. Hauwa Muhammad, during the institution’s 41st matriculation ceremony held over the weekend.

Approximately 15,000 students, newly admitted for the 2024/2025 academic session, participated in the event, which took place in Nasarawa Local Government Area.

The matriculated students were enrolled in National Diploma, ND, Higher National Diploma, HND and Part-Time programmes.

Dr. Muhammad used the opportunity to caution the new students against engaging in examination malpractices, highlighting the consequences faced by their predecessors.

“Let the experience of the expelled students serve as a lesson to all. This institution has zero tolerance for any form of academic dishonesty,” she stated.

She further advised students to avoid social vices such as drug abuse, indecent dressing, and cultism, while promoting peaceful coexistence on campus.
