Gombe: Police restrict night movements from Feb 7


The Gombe State Police Command has announced a restriction on movement between 12:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. daily, effective from February 7, 2025.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, on Thursday.

According to the statement, the police emphasized that the decision was necessary to curb security threats and ensure the safety of residents.

“The Command has resolved to curb the menace of these threats and has placed restrictions on movements between the hours of 12:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. starting from February 7, 2025,” the statement read.

The police urged residents to cooperate with security operatives, assuring them that the measure was taken in their best interest.

“The Command prioritizes the safety and security of citizens and urges members of the public to cooperate with the police in making the state a safe place to thrive,” DSP Abdullahi stated.

Additionally, parents and guardians were advised to caution their children and wards against violating the directive, as the police would not tolerate any breaches.

“The Command also advises parents and guardians to caution their wards, as the police will not tolerate any form of violation of this restriction,” he added.

The police further provided emergency contact numbers, 08150567771 and 09036435359 for residents who may need assistance during the restriction period.
