Opposition parties no longer exist in Imo – Gov Uzodinma

The Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma has declared that the state is now a one party state, claiming that opposition parties are no where to be found.

He made the claim while welcoming the National Chairman of APC, Abdullahi Ganduje and other national party leaders who were in the state to witness the commissioning of some roads by the governor.

He said the APC was able to make inroads to the rural areas in the state because of its human oriented projects leading to the successful outing of the party during the LGA elections in the state.

“I can testify to you, Mr Chairman, that as a party, we have won the hearts of Imo people through our superlative performance in the last five years.

“The party has been fully entrenched here because the people can relate to our developmental initiatives.” the governor maintained.

He pointed out that the opposition parties in the state have faded away due to the visible progress brought about by the APC administration, claiming that what used to be an opposition parties in the state have all said to have disappeared because the people can see the progress recorded in the state.

The number one citizen of the state further said that what transpired during the State House of Assembly and LGA elections where the ruling party clinched virtually all the elective positions were testaments that opposition parties no longer have voice in the state political space.

“APC government has brought the State back on track, and moving forward is the only assurance.

The Governor expressed pride in the APC leadership, maintaining that he will continue delivering infrastructures and human capital development.
