APC stalwart urges Ribadu to ignore opposition distractions

A prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State, Alhaji Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso, has advised the National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, and other top officials of President Bola Tinubu’s administration to remain focused on their duties despite criticism from the opposition.

In a statement issued in Kano on Friday, Kwankwaso highlighted Ribadu’s efforts in enhancing national security and urged him to stay committed to his mandate.

“Ribadu should remain focused on ensuring the security of lives and property for all Nigerians.

Other officials of the Tinubu administration should also concentrate on their assigned tasks without being distracted by opposition attacks,” he said.

Kwankwaso praised Ribadu’s achievements in combating insecurity, noting that previously dangerous areas have become safer, with many bandits, Boko Haram elements, and other non-state actors either neutralized or surrendering.

He accused opposition figures, including former Kano State Governor Dr. Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, of being uncomfortable with Ribadu’s success.

“They are not happy because the NSA and other principal officers are making President Bola Tinubu’s administration proud through their excellent performance,” he stated.

On the political landscape in Kano, Kwankwaso asserted that the APC is gaining momentum, pointing to the recent defection of former commissioners from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to the APC.

“Just recently, some former NNPP commissioners were welcomed into the APC by the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin. This development has unsettled Dr. Rabi’u Kwankwaso,” he remarked.

Kwankwaso expressed optimism about the APC’s prospects in Kano, vowing to continue attracting NNPP members as part of the party’s strategy to reclaim power in the state come 2027.
