The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Zamfara State Council, said it was deeply saddened by the tragic fire incident that claimed the lives of seventeen almajiris in Kaura Namoda town.
In a statement jointly issued by the Council’s Chairman, Ibrahim Musa Maizare, and Secretary, Ibrahim Ahmad Gada, it said: “Our hearts go out to the families of the victims and the entire community as they mourn this devastating loss.
“The loss of these young lives is a tragedy that has left a profound impact on the community. We extend our deepest sympathies to the families who are grieving and offer our thoughts and prayers to those who were injured in the fire.
“As a union committed to raising awareness on issues affecting our society, we urge discussions on safety measures and support systems for vulnerable groups to prevent such a tragedy from occurring again in the future.
“We stand in solidarity with the Kaura Namoda community during this difficult time and offer our support in any way possible. May the souls of the departed rest in peace, and may the community find strength and healing in the days to come.”
