The Nigeria Police has announced the rescue of the Onogie of Udo-Eguare in Edo State.
CSP Moses Joel Yamu, the Public Relations Officer of the Edo State Police Command, said the victim was rescued after spending four days in captivity.
According to a statement, the Edo State Commissioner of Police, Betty Enekpen Isokpan Otimenyin, “has today, 07/02/2024, at about 1800hrs, kept her vow with the rescue of the Onogie of Udo-Eguare community, who was earlier kidnapped on 03/02/2025.”
The statement expressed the command’s appreciation to the Edo State Government and attributed the success to the logistical support provided by the Executive Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, towards the operation.
The command also acknowledged the efforts of vigilantes, hunters, and other well-meaning residents of the state for their support.
The statement assured the public of the command’s continued commitment to the fight against crime.
