UCL: It’s difficult to control them – Guardiola reveals only way out for Man City vs Real Madrid


Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has revealed what his team must do to beat Real Madrid in their Champions League playoff game this midweek.

The Catalan said the Cityzens must impose themselves across two legs to beat the title holders .

Manchester City are up against Los Blancos in the play-off round to make it through the final-16 of the competition.

The first of these two-legged games will be played at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday.

Both European giants failed to book automatic tickets to the Round of Sixteen.

Addressing the press ahead of the first leg, Guardiola addressed opposition attacking threat.

“Real Madrid’s attack? It’s impossible to control these players over the two games. They’re all exceptional. We have to reduce their influence as much as possible.

“We must have the ability to stop them when we have the ball and stop them from running. We will try to impose our game, be clever to get a good result for the Bernabeu.”

Meanwhile, Carlo Ancelotti’s team have not been in the best of form lately, winning just one of their last three fixtures across competitions.

Real Madrid firepower upfront include Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior.

Mbappe has played 34 games across competitions this campaign, bagging 22 goals and three assists.

Due to injuries, Vinicius has been able to play 29 times in all competitions this year, bagging 16 goals and 10 assists.
