I won’t coach in France again – Marseille manager, De Zerbi blows hot

Marseille manager, Roberto De Zerbi has vowed never to coach in France again.

De Zerbi was left fuming after his team lost 3-0 to Auxerre in a Ligue 1 clash.

Jubal scored twice, while Gaetan Perrin was also on target as Auxerre recorded a shock win.

The defeat left Marseille 10 points behind league leaders Paris Saint-Germain.

During the match, the visitors saw defender Derek Cornelius sent off after a second booking.

The referee’s decision did not go down well with De Zerbi, who has criticized the standard of officiating in the country.

Speaking to reporters after the game, the Italian said: “I’m Italian, and after OM I’m not going to coach in France again.

“There’s a problem in the French championship. If French people are happy with this level of decision-making, then good for them. But today it was scandalous.

“The referee was not in [the right state of mind to officiate] this match because of all the controversy surrounding him.”
