Kano police reunite lost child with parents


The Kano State Police Command has successfully reunited a six-year-old child with their parents after the child was found wandering along Airport Road, Kano, on Friday, February 21, 2025.
Following a public appeal made by the police on February 22, the child’s parents were identified and their identities verified through an investigation. The authorities then handed the child over to them.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, expressed appreciation to the public for their cooperation in sharing information that led to the successful reunion.

“The Kano State Police Command wishes to express its gratitude to the public for their support and cooperation in disseminating the initial press release. The Command appreciates the swift response from the public, which led to the successful reunion of the child with the parents.”

The police urged parents and guardians to be more vigilant in monitoring their children, especially in public places, and encouraged the public to report missing persons or suspicious activities to the nearest police station without delay.

“The Kano State Police Command remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens, especially vulnerable groups like children.”

Reaffirming its commitment to public safety, the Kano State Police Command assured residents that it remains dedicated to protecting vulnerable individuals, particularly children.
