Ramadan: Gov Namadi urges generosity, prayers

Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, has called on well-meaning individuals to support those in need and pray for peace and prosperity in the state and across Nigeria during the holy month of Ramadan.

In a statement issued by his Special Assistant on New Media, Garba Muhammad, and made available to DAILY POST, the governor extended his warmest greetings to the Muslim Ummah as they begin the sacred period of fasting and reflection.

“Ramadan is a month for worship and self-reflection, and it is also a time for kindness and generosity. Let’s take this opportunity to stand together and help those who are in need. Even a small act of giving can result in a big impact on our lives,” he stated.

Governor Namadi reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the less privileged, highlighting the ongoing statewide Ramadan feeding program.

He further disclosed that all food items for the initiative would be sourced from local markets within each community to boost economic activities and provide income opportunities for traders and farmers.

“I have directed that all food items be purchased from local markets within each community for this initiative. In this way, we will not only feed the needy, but our traders and farmers will also benefit,” the statement read.

The governor also emphasized the need for continued prayers for peace, prosperity, and a better future for Jigawa State and Nigeria as a whole.

“I pray that this Ramadan brings us more blessings, forgiveness, and strength. Let us embrace its spirit and continue praying for a better tomorrow,” he said.

Namadi concluded his message with a heartfelt “Ramadan Mubarak”, wishing all Muslims a peaceful and rewarding fasting period.
