Edo Guber Tribunal: APC alleges PDP plot to disrupt government activities in FCT

The Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has raised the alarm over an alleged plan by members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to disrupt government activities in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, on Tuesday.

Chairman of the APC in Edo State, Jarret Tenebe, who raised the alarm in a statement, said members of the PDP in the state have concluded plans to stage a protest and disrupt activities at the Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation, AGF.

The planned protest comes amid the ongoing hearing of the petition filed by the PDP and its candidate in the Edo State governorship election, Asue Ighodalo, challenging the victory of the APC and Governor Monday Okpebholo.

The APC said the planned protest and disruption of activities at the Office of the AGF are aimed at influencing the Edo State governorship election tribunal.

Tenebe urged security agencies, including the police, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Nigerian Army, to be vigilant and take necessary measures to prevent a potential breakdown of law and order in the nation’s capital.

According to Tenebe, the PDP and Asue Ighodalo’s supporters plan to carry out the “unlawful act” on Tuesday, March 4, 2025.

Stressing the need for security agencies to be proactive in preventing the planned disruption, the Edo APC chairman emphasized that the party would not tolerate any attempts to compromise the judicial process or disrupt peace.

“The security agencies should take this threat seriously and hold those responsible for this planned disruption accountable for their actions,” Tenebe added.
