Arsenal failed to close the gap on Liverpool after being held to a 1-1 draw by Manchester United on Sunday.
The day before, Liverpool took another big step towards winning the Premier League title, coming from behind to beat Southampton 3-1.
With the Gunners needing a win to keep pace with Arne Slot’s men, they dropped points again at Old Trafford.
Arsenal dominated the early exchanges, but it was United who took the lead just before half-time.
Leandro Trossard fouled Alejandro Garnacho, and from the resulting free-kick, Bruno Fernandes blasted the hosts into the lead.
However, Mikel Arteta’s side levelled in the second half, with Declan Rice converting a low cross.
The result leaves Arsenal on 55 points, 15 behind Liverpool, but with a game in hand.
