Leicester City manager Ruud van Nistelrooy has praised Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes ahead of their Premier League clash on Sunday.
Van Nistelrooy said the Portuguese midfielder is in excellent form, having scored a hat-trick against Real Sociedad in the Europa League on Thursday and a free-kick against Arsenal a few days earlier.
The Dutchman previously coached Fernandes during his brief spell as interim manager of Manchester United.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of Sunday’s clash at the King Power Stadium, Van Nistelrooy said: “They had a very good game against Arsenal, and yesterday they were very strong.
“Obviously, reaching the quarter-finals of the Europa League is a great boost.
“Bruno [Fernandes] is in great form—scoring a hat-trick and then netting that free-kick against Arsenal—so he is very decisive in that team.
“They’ve built some momentum, especially after yesterday’s game.
“It is definitely a team in a better place than when we played them in the FA Cup.”
