TCN restores bulk electricity supply in Lagos after days of outage

The Transmission of Nigeria, TCN, has restored bulk electricity supply to Ikeja Electric and Eko Distribution companies franchise in Lagos State after days of outage.

TCN disclosed this in a statement by its spokesperson, Ndidi Mbah, on Tuesday.

The electricity restoration followed the successful repair of a part of the 330-kilovolt Osogbo-Omotosho transmission line between towers 420 and 422.

Accordingly, TCN said the development will put an end to load shedding and drop in power supply in parts of Lagos State.

“The restoration follows the successful completion of repair works on a part of the 330 kV transmission line between towers 420 and 422 of the Osogbo-Omotosho line, which was completed at 8:55 pm on Saturday, March 15, 2025. The repair addressed a line snap, restoring lost power and resuming normal bulk transmission.

“Consequently, load shedding caused by the line cut has been stopped.

“TCN appreciates the understanding and cooperation of the Lagos State Government, Eko and Ikeja Electricity Distribution Companies, and electricity consumers in Lagos State during the period of load shedding,” the statement said.

Recall that on March 11, TCN confirmed that a major fault on its Omotoso-Ikeja West 330 kV transmission line led to a significant reduction in the electricity supply to Lagos State.
