Crystal Palace’s dealt with Manchester United, giving them a huge blow on Monday has left Erik ten Hag’s men in real danger of missing out on a European place for next season as unwanted records continue to tumble.
The loss leaves them eighth in the Premier League and out of the European places – although a victory against Manchester City in the FA Cup final would guarantee a Europa League spot.
Oliver Glasner, Crystal Palace coach who pointed out why his team thrashed Manchester United 4-0 in the Premier League on Monday.
Goals from Michael Olise (two), Jean-Philippe Mateta and Tyrick Mitchell gave Palace all three points against Man United at Selhurst Park.
Speaking after the game, Glasner said his players controlled the game better than the Red Devils in the second half.
According to him, his team were more consistent in basics and very efficient against Erik ten Hag’s side.
“I think the first-half, we didn’t really play as well as we could, so it was not that consistent,” he told Sky Sports.
“In defence, we opened the middle too often and they could find the pockets and we had a little bit of a problem, but we were very efficient, so we scored very nice goals.
“But, at half-time, we made two or three adaptations, the players listened again and in the second-half, we were much better and were in much more control of the game.
“We created a lot of chances, we scored nice goals, but we were a little bit more consistent in our basics and so it’s a great win, and congrats to the team

Erik ten Hag: “Absolutely, I am the right manager to turn things around”.
“If the right players are available then we have a good squad. But when we miss almost our entire backline then we have problems”.
