Ex-Roma and Inter coach José Mourinho praised Italian tactician Carlo Ancelotti after Real Madrid’s Champions League victory: ‘He’s not a social media coach, he’s a proper coach.’
The Special One was one of the TNT Sports pundits on Saturday night when Real Madrid lifted the Champions League trophy for the 15th time in history after beating Borussia Dortmund 2-0 at Wembley Stadium.
It was Ancelotti’s third Champions League trophy with the Merengues and the fifth in his coaching career.
“He’s not a social media coach, he’s a proper coach,” said Mourinho.
“He comes from meritocracy. Go to his office and look at his medals.”
Even Milan fans honoured their ex-coach on Sunday by exposing a banner outside San Siro.
Ancelotti has now won seven Champions League/European Cups in his career. twice as a footballer and five times as a coach.
Mourinho has just been named the new Fenerbahce coach, six months after Roma sacked him.
