2026 World Cup qualifier: Rwanda unveils provisional squad for Super Eagles showdown


Rwanda head coach Adel Amrouche has released a 28-man provisional squad for his side’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Nigeria and Lesotho.

The squad is headlined by Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari, Sabail FK forward Innocent Nsuthi, and reliable midfielder Bizmana Djihad, who plays for Libyan club Al Ahli Tripoli. Other key players include Mugisha Bonheur, Jojea Kwizera, Steve Rubanguka, and Hakim Sahabo.

Amrouche is expected to trim the squad to 23 players. The Amavubi will assemble in Kigali on Sunday ahead of the qualifiers.

Rwanda will host the Super Eagles in a matchday five encounter at the Amahoro Stadium, Kigali, on Friday, 21st March. Four days later, they will take on Lesotho’s Crocodiles at the same venue.
