The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the gruesome murder and beheading of a 10-year-old Almajiri boy in Jada Local Government Area.
The suspects, identified as Ibrahim Abdul Malik, 27, and Aliyu Abdul Malik, 18, both residents of Anguwan Sarkin Yamma, Jada, were apprehended by operatives attached to the Divisional Police Headquarters, Jada.
Confirming the arrest in a statement on Sunday, the command’s spokesperson, CSP Suleiman Nguroje, said the suspects were linked to the brutal killing of Abdalla Lawali, a young Almajiri from Anguwar Dubai, Jada.
“The duo were alleged to have killed and beheaded a 10-year-old Almajiri, identified as Abdalla Lawali. The victim was reported missing on March 7, 2025, prompting an extensive search by security operatives and concerned individuals,” Nguroje stated.
He further explained that the breakthrough in the case came when intelligence reports revealed the suspects’ involvement.
“Upon receiving credible information, the Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, swiftly deployed security operatives to the scene, where the decomposed body of the deceased was discovered inside a sack,” he said.
The police also executed a search warrant at the suspects’ residence, leading to a shocking discovery.
“During the search, the victim’s head was found buried in a shallow grave within the house premises,” Nguroje disclosed.
During interrogation, the suspects reportedly confessed to the crime, expressing regret over their actions. “They blamed the devil for their action,” the police spokesman added.
Condemning the act as barbaric, CP Morris ordered the immediate transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and diligent prosecution.
“The Commissioner of Police has assured the public that justice will be served. He also urges parents and guardians to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to law enforcement agencies,” Nguroje stated.
