Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has dismissed five commissioners from his cabinet as part of a reshuffle aimed at revitalizing governance and enhancing service delivery in the state.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor, Mukhtar Gidado.
According to the statement, the reshuffle reflects the governor’s commitment to injecting new ideas and energy into governance to address emerging challenges effectively.
“In that respect, five commissioners were dropped. This move reflects the administration’s commitment to injecting new ideas and energy into governance, in line with the governor’s vision of strengthening the machinery of government and addressing emerging challenges effectively,” the statement read.
The commissioners affected by the development include Jamila Dahiru, Commissioner for Education; Abdulhameed Bununu, Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs; Usman Danturaki, Commissioner for Information and Communication; Madugu Yalams, Commissioner for Agriculture; and Yakubu Ibrahim, Commissioner for Religious Affairs and Societal Reorientation.
Governor Mohammed extended his gratitude to the outgoing commissioners for their dedication and contributions to the development of Bauchi State.
“Their efforts have been instrumental in advancing key initiatives and policies of this administration,” Gidado quoted the governor as saying.
As part of the reshuffle, Governor Mohammed has forwarded the names of five individuals to the State House of Assembly for security clearance and confirmation as commissioners.
The nominees include Babayo Tilde from Toro Local Government, Abdullahi Mohammed from Misau Local Government, Bala Lukshi from Dass Local Government, Usman Shehu from Shira Local Government, and Iliyasu Gital from Tafawa Balewa Local Government. Additional nominees include Titus Ketkukah from Tafawa Balewa Local Government, Babayo Gabarin from Darazo Local Government, and Lawal Rimin Zayam from Toro Local Government.
The governor reiterated his administration’s resolve to deliver impactful development and improve the welfare of Bauchi residents.
“This reshuffle is part of our commitment to fulfilling the mandate of this administration and ensuring that governance remains responsive to the needs of the people,” Gidado added.
