BGT fans all say the same thing about Alesha Dixon minutes into live episode | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Amanda Holden‘s outfits usually capture the lion’s share of the attention – and the Ofcom complaints – but this time it was Alesha Dixon who had viewers looking. The Britain’s Got Talent judge wore a magenta-coloured top with an almost exactly matching purple blazer – and she instantly received comparisons to Quality Street confectionery.

“I could eat Alesha Dixon right now…” one fan exclaimed on Twitter, attaching a photo of a purple Quality Street sweet. Another had drinks in mind instead, as they compared her to a Blackcurrant Ribena, referring to the fruit juice flavour which comes in distinctively purple cartons.

“Alesha’s just finished filming a Ribena advert #bgt,” they quipped. A third fan brought Amanda’s outfit into the equation, as she’d chosen to go braless in a lightly shimmering gold number.

They declared: “Alesha impersonating Willy Wonka and Amanda impersonating the golden ticket #britainsgottalent #bgt.” Another elaborated that she looked like “the spoilt one” from Charlie and The Chocolate Factory – the tantrum-prone Violet Beauregarde.

One fan was in stitches, as she quizzed whether Alesha had borrowed one of the trolls’ outfits from last night’s performance when the brightly-coloured dancing group had mischievously covered Simon’s face with foam. Another demanded to know why she was dressed like kids’ cartoon character Barney.

However, it was clear to see that the majority of fans, playful ribbing aside, thought she looked “stunning”.

They thought the same about the designer dress from Jacquemus she wore earlier this week, which has a retail value of more than £2500.

The outfit was embellished with delicate silver sequined flowers, which fans couldn’t take their eyes off.

The former Mis-Teeq singer scarcely looks different from her girl band days, and although the years have passed and she’s now 45, she could easily pass for years younger.

The previous day, she stepped out in an equally attention-grabbing wine-coloured leather catsuit.

Meanwhile, Amanda Holden‘s all-pink ensemble captured viewers’ attention on Wednesday night, as her tiny pink dress and huge sweeping train saw compared to Barbie movie star Margot Robbie.

Simon Cowell‘s usual all-black uniform, on the other hand, saw him described by one unforgiving tweeter as a “refuse collector”.

Britain’s Got Talent returns tomorrow at 8pm on ITV.
