The Lagos State Police Command has arrested the owner of Don Maserati Classic Boutique on Lagos Island, along with two others, following a viral video showing the brutal assault and molestation of a female employee accused of theft.
The disturbing footage, which surfaced online, showed three men viciously flogging the female staff member with canes under the alleged orders of the boutique owner.
The incident sparked widespread outrage, prompting swift action from the Lagos State Government and law enforcement.
Confirming the arrests, the Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Command, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, announced on X (formerly Twitter).
“Three suspects have been arrested, while efforts are on to apprehend other suspects and establish contact with the victim. The Commissioner of Police, @LagosPoliceNG, CP Olanrewaju Ishola, assures Lagosians that justice will be served,” he wrote.
While the victim’s identity remains undisclosed for her protection, advocacy groups have called for her immediate rehabilitation and justice. Investigations are ongoing to apprehend other suspects involved in the assault.
The Lagos State Government and Police Command have reiterated their commitment to ensuring that justice is served and have urged residents to report similar incidents of abuse.
