Charlie Kelman secures point for Leyton Orient against Peterborough

Charlie Kelman scored a second-half equaliser as Leyton Orient secured a 2-2 draw with Peterborough in their League One match at Brisbane Road.

After Orient opened the scoring through Tom James, Kwame Poku and Malik Mothersille put Posh in front at the break before Kelman struck.

James had given the home side the lead in the 20th minute when he collected a pass from Ethan Galbraith, cut in from the right and unleashed a magnificent left-footed shot from 20 yards.

But Posh scored twice in four minutes late in the first half to gain the initiative. In the 42nd minute a left flank cross from Mothersille was turned into the net at the near post by Poku.

The visitors were then awarded a penalty after Orient keeper Zach Hemming brought down Ricky-Jade Jones and Mothersille stepped up to score.

It took Orient just eight second-half minutes to equalise when Kelman fired home through a crowded penalty area but although the hosts went in search of the winner, the visitors’ defence proved resilient.
