Arsenal have expressed interest in Feyenoord left-back Quilindschy Hartman, who is keen on a move to the Emirates should the Gunners advance their pursuit. The 22-year-old Dutch defender has also been on the radar of Chelsea and several other Premier League clubs.

Hartman is currently sidelined with a serious knee injury and is not expected to return to action until 2025. This injury has unfortunately ruled him out of the European Championship, but he aims to make a comeback midway through next season.

Despite his injury, Hartman’s talent has not gone unnoticed. He made an impressive debut for the Netherlands, scoring in a 2-1 defeat against France in October 2023, and would have been a strong contender for the Euros if not for his untimely setback.

Premier League clubs are closely monitoring Hartman’s recovery. If he can replicate the form that contributed to Feyenoord’s Eredivisie title win under current Liverpool manager Arne Slot, he will be highly sought after.

Arsenal current left-back options include Oleksandr Zinchenko, Jakub Kiwior, and occasionally Takehiro Tomiyasu. However, the Gunners are reportedly looking to bolster this position and are preparing to enter the race for Hartman once he recovers.

In an interview with ESPN, Hartman discussed Chelsea’s interest prior to his injury. “They really wanted me,” he said. “It started in the winter break. They came to Feyenoord, but at that moment I didn’t really want it myself. I had just broken through, just started playing everything and made it to the Dutch national team. The European Championship also arrived.”

Chelsea, despite having Marc Cucurella and Ben Chilwell, are still looking to strengthen their left-back position. They have been tracking Hartman for some time, but his injury means any potential transfer would be delayed.

Arsenal, meanwhile, see potential in Hartman to successfully transition to English football and are poised to join the competition for his signature once he returns to fitness. The Gunners’ scouts have been impressed with his performances and believe he could be a valuable addition to their squad.
