Councillors sack Shira LG Chairman, Deputy over alleged abuse of office


The councillors of Shira Local Government Area, Bauchi State, have removed the Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Ibrahim Beli, and his Deputy, Hon. Usman Adamu, from office over allegations of gross misconduct, financial mismanagement, and abuse of office.

In a letter (SLGLC 003) dated February 28, 2025, and obtained by DAILY POST on Monday, the council announced the decision after reviewing the findings of an investigative committee that established the officials’ offences.

The letter was signed by the following councillors:

Hon. Dalhatu A. Haruna – Councillor, Gagidiba Ward

Hon. Alhassan Mohammed – Councillor, Kilbori A Ward

Hon. Garba Bello – Councillor, Kilbori B Ward

Hon. Ayuba Babani – Councillor, Shira Ward

Hon. Sa’adu Shehu – Councillor, Sambowal Ward

Hon. Hadiza Adamu – Councillor, Beli Ward

Hon. Aminu Umar – Councillor, Taft Ward

Hon. Magaji Mohammed – Councillor, Zubo Ward

The resolution, led by Hon. Wali Adamu, declared both offices vacant with immediate effect.
