Enugu: Police arrest armed robbery suspects, recover stolen items

The Enugu State Police Command has arrested seven male suspects for conspiracy and armed robbery.

Daniel Ndukwe, Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the arrests in a statement on Tuesday.

He said the suspects, aged between 20 and 32, were arrested following a report of armed robbery at Ibagwa-Nike, Enugu, on February 3 and 6, 2025.

According to him, “The arrests, made by the State Criminal Investigation Department (State CID), followed credible intelligence after reports of robberies on February 3 and 6, 2025.

“Police recovered one pump-action gun, two locally made pistols, two live cartridges, two machetes, and various stolen items, including SIM cards, identity cards, clothes, and supplement drugs.”

The suspects who were apprehended by the Anti-Robbery (D9) Section, have confessed to the crime and will be arraigned in court once investigations are concluded.

Commissioner of Police, CP Kanayo Uzuegbu, urged residents to remain law-abiding, vigilant and supportive of the police to reduce crime in Enugu State.
