Manchester City will ask their manager, Pep Guardiola, for a final decision on his future by Christmas, ESPN reports.
Guardiola has only one year left on his current deal with the Premier League champions.
City would like the 53-year-old to agree on fresh terms at the Etihad, after guiding the club to an unprecedented era of success with 15 major trophies, since arriving in 2016.
Guardiola’s strong relationship with the director of football, Txiki Begiristain, ensures he will get the freedom to decide how and when he leaves.
The former Bayern Munich and Barcelona boss is leaning towards leaving City after the newly expanded FIFA Club World Cup in 2025.
