Former Arsenal centre-back Philippe Senderos has urged his old club to reignite their transfer interest in Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic.
Senderos believes Vlahovic could take Mikel Arteta’s side closer to the Premier League title.
Arsenal have failed to win the Premier League title in the last two seasons.
The Gunners finished in second position twice, behind champions Manchester City.
As a result, there were calls from Arsenal supporters for the Premier League North London club to sign a top striker with a proven goalscoring record.
However, Arsenal are yet to sign a top striker for their manager, Mikel Arteta.
Currently, Arsenal have just four available senior forwards – Gabriel Martinelli, Raheem Sterling, Kai Havertz, and Leandro Trossard in Arteta’s squad.
The likes of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus are currently injured, and Senderos wants Arsenal to bring Vlahovic to the Emirates.
“Dusan Vlahovic could take Arsenal closer to the title, but Mikel Arteta has a clear idea of how he wants to play and who he wants in that nine position,” Senderos told CasinoHawks.
“We’ve seen Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz there, but Vlahovic is a fantastic player who has performed in the Italian league and been a success.
“It’s difficult to judge him this season, but he could certainly have a big impact in the Premier League. Why not?”
