“ER” alum Gloria Reuben has joined the cast of Prime Video‘s upcoming series “The Better Sister,” which also stars Jessica Biel, Elizabeth Banks, Corey Stoll and Matthew Modine.
Based on the novel by Alafair Burke, “The Better Sister” stars Biel as Chloe, a woman whose life is upended when her husband Adam (played by Stoll) is brutally murdered — and the prime suspect shocks the family and exposes secrets. Banks plays Chloe’s sister, Nicky, who “hustles to make ends meet while trying to stay clean.”
Reuben will play Michelle Sanders, described as “a respected lawyer who has made a career of standing up when she’s told to sit down. Michelle Sanders faces a new kind of challenge when she crosses paths with the sisters.”
Olivia Milch and Regina Corrado are executive producers and showrunners on “The Better Sister,” while series director Craig Gillespie and Annie Marter are executive producers through Fortunate Jack Productions. Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements and Alissa Bachner are exec producers via Tomorrow Studios, while Banks, Biel and Michelle Purple are also EPs. “The Better Sister” is from Tomorrow Studios (an ITV Studios partner) and Amazon MGM Studios.
Reuben was twice Emmy-nominated for playing Jeanie Boulet on “ER.” She’s currently on CBS’ new hit “Elsbeth,” and is in the film “My Dead Friend Zoe,” which premiered at the 2024 SXSW festival. Her credits also include “Mr. Robot,” “Cloak & Dagger” and “City on a Hill” on TV, and “Lincoln,” “Timecop,” “Nick of Time,” “Admission” and “Reasonable Doubt” in film. She also released her memoir, “My Brothers’ Keeper: Two Brothers. Loved. And Lost,” in 2019.
Reuben is repped by Echo Lake, Paradigm and Goodman, Genow, Schenkman, Smelkinson & Christopher.
