Five players for your Fantasy team this week

We are already into the sixth gameweek of the 2024/25 Premier League season and that marks a fixture swing for some teams.

Some clubs are about to start a juicy run of fixtures which appeal and we take a look at five players who should be in your FPL team heading into the next batch of fixtures.

Mark Flekken, Brentford (Goalkeeper)

Brentford host West Ham on Saturday in the Premier League in a game that should suit the hosts.

The Bees were beaten 3-1 by Tottenham last weekend, meaning they have now lost two on the spin in the top-flight.

Goalkeeper Mark Flekken has made more saves than any other goalkeeper this season with 28, but he faces an out-of-form Hammers outfit.

Confidence is bound to be low after three games without a win, so Flekken may be able to pick up his first clean sheet in the league this season.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Liverpool (Defender)

England international Trent Alexander-Arnold makes the shortlist this week as Liverpool prepare to travel to Molineux to take on Wolves.

The right-back has been part of a Reds defence that has collected four clean sheets from five matches.

He has one assist to his name, but Wolves look vulnerable at the back, so that stat could soon be improved.

Gary O’Neil’s team have conceded 14 in five in the league, so Alexander-Arnold should be able to cause problems with his ability to pick a pass.

Gabriel, Arsenal (Defender)

Afer scoring in two successive league matches, Gabriel makes the shortlist as he looks to help Arsenal maintain their unbeaten start to the season.

Gabriel is one of the first names on Mikel Arteta’s teamsheet and he will fancy his chances of causing more problems from set-pieces.

The Brazilian defender is the main target for the Gunners at corners and he should be able to have his say against the Foxes, who have conceded in every one of their league games.

Gabriel has been a huge danger for Arsenal at set-pieces, scoring twice already this season.

Bryan Mbeumo, Brentford (Midfielder)

Only two players have scored more goals than Bryan Mbeumo this season, with Erling Haaland (10) and Luis Diaz (5) leading the way in England.

Mbeumo, Jhon Duran and Nicolas Jackson have all scored four goals each and the Bees ace goes up against a West Ham team who have conceded seven in three in the Premier League.

Due to Yoane Wissa’s injury, Mbeumo is set to lead the line and is practically guaranteed 90 minutes unless he picks up an injury.

Erling Haaland, Manchester City (Forward)

A boring choice, but also an essential one. Haaland’s 10 goals in five matches suggest he is still improving as a player and he faces Newcastle on Saturday, with the Magpies having shown shown that they are still weak at the back.

They have conceded seven goals in five games, so Haaland should relish the chance to play against Eddie Howe’s outfit.

Captain’s Pick: Erling Haaland

Haaland has the bit between his teeth at the minute and looks like a man who means business, which should worry Newcastle’s vulnerable defence.
