Garnacho can’t be trusted to start matches for Man Utd – Roy Keane

Manchester United legend, Roy Keane has suggested that winger, Alejandro Garnacho can’t be trusted to start matches for the Red Devils.

Keane spoke as the Argentina international starred off the bench in Man United’s FA Cup 2-1 victory over Leicester City on Friday.

DAILY POST reports that Garnacho replaced January signing, Patrick Dorgu at half-time.

The 20-year-old instantly lifted his Ruben Amorim’s side, tormenting Leicester with driving runs down the left.

Watching on in the ITV studio, Arsenal legend Ian Wright was surprised Garnacho didn’t start against Leicester.

“I am very surprised Garnacho did not start in this game, he did the same in the game against Liverpool [when he came on],’ Wright said.

“He comes on and you can’t deal with him. He comes on with pace and attacks.”

Responding, Keane said: “I think it suits him when it comes off the bench, I don’t think you can trust him when he starts.

“But when he comes off the bench and you are gambling and the team is stretched, that is when he comes into his own.

“They put Leicester on the back-foot and the subs came on. That is what Garnacho does well. The first-half they were going sideways and sideways. He came on and tested them.”

DAILY POST reports that Leicester took the lead through Bobby De Cordova-Reid in the FA Cup fourth round encounter at Old Trafford.

But two goals from Joshua Zirkzee and Harry Maguire gave United the win over the Foxes.
