Muhammad Bello El-Rufai, the member representing Kaduna North in the House of Representatives and son of former Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, has expressed displeasure over the ongoing issues between his father and Governor Uba Sani.
He stated that while his father is his number one role model and Senator Uba Sani his boss, reconciling them is not his responsibility.
According to him, his primary duty is to provide the people of Kaduna North with quality representation. He alleged that some individuals are enjoying the conflict between his father and the governor, comparing it to the legendary Bollywood actors Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra fighting.
According to Tribune Online, Bello, speaking in an interview with the BBC Hausa Service over the weekend, broke his silence for the first time on the impasse between his father and the governor.
He remarked that if he ever chose to fight any cause on social media, it would be fierce, as he had demonstrated in the past.
He also expressed his disappointment over the situation between former Governor Nasir El-Rufai and the current governor, Uba Sani, given the significant roles both have played in his life.
“It is not pleasant for us. Even if someone is my enemy, I do not want to see them fighting with another enemy of mine—I want peace,” he said.
Bello likened the situation to how life can change unpredictably, saying, “Marriages break up, friends stop being friends, but friendships shouldn’t be abandoned regardless of any conflict.”
He stated that he was unaware of what initially brought his father and Uba Sani together but did not expect them to quarrel, as he had never heard them exchange insults in his presence.
According to him, he does not even know if the alleged dispute is real or just speculation.
“None of them has said anything to me about the crisis,” he said.
