I’m sorry for Salah – Carragher tells Liverpool two players to sign

Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher has urged the Reds to sign two attackers to play alongside Mohamed Salah next season.

Carragher said this while reacting to Liverpool’s FA Cup final 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United on Sunday.

The former England international said he was sorry for Salah because the Egyptian forward doesn’t get help from the other attackers during the encounter against Newcastle.

Goals either side of half-time from Dan Burn and Alexander Isak gave Newcastle the win over Liverpool at Wembley.

Federico Chiesa pulled a goal back in injury-time for Arne Slot’s side.

“It was probably one of the worst performances I have seen from Liverpool in a cup final,” Carragher told Sky Sports.

“But they have given so much this season and they have lost one league game. It’s hard to be too critical but it has shined a light on where Liverpool need to improve.

“The lack of pace in attack is glaring. I feel sorry for Mohamed Salah, he was kept quiet by PSG and he wasn’t great today but he doesn’t get help from the other attackers.

“The other attackers are good players but they are not great. They need to go and buy two attackers this summer to play alongside Salah,” he added.
