A foiled kidnap attempt by armed bandits in Sabuwa Local Government Area of Katsina State has been confirmed by the Katsina State Police Command.
The incident occurred on Tuesday night, March 19, 2025.
Acting on credible intelligence, officers from the Faskari Divisional Headquarters confronted the bandits, who had set up an ambush on the Inono feeder road near Gidan Zuma village.
A fierce gun battle ensued, forcing the heavily armed attackers to flee with gunshot wounds.
The police recovered a Honda motorcycle, believed to be used by the criminals. A manhunt is currently underway to track down the fleeing suspects.
The Katsina State Commissioner of Police commended the officers for their bravery and reaffirmed the command’s commitment to safeguarding residents.
