The Katsina State Police Command has successfully thwarted a kidnap attempt by armed bandits, rescued all victims unhurt, and recovered 94 rustled animals in Faskari Local Government Area.
According to DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, the Police Public Relations Officer, the operation was carried out under the leadership of Commissioner of Police Aliyu Abubakar Musa.
The incident occurred on March 12, 2025, at around 1:00 AM, when armed bandits attacked Unguwar Sarkin Fulani Dutsen Dadi near Tafoki village. The assailants kidnapped residents and rustled two cows, ninety-two sheep, and goats.
Upon receiving the report, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Faskari immediately mobilized a patrol team to the scene. The police ambushed the bandits, engaged them in a fierce gunfight, and forced them to flee with severe injuries. All kidnapped victims were rescued unharmed, and the rustled animals were recovered.
The police have intensified efforts to apprehend the fleeing suspects, while investigations continue.
Commending his officers for their bravery and professionalism, CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa urged residents to cooperate with the police by providing timely and accurate information to combat crime effectively.
