Kogi LG chairman suspends Chief of Staff over alleged sale of govt property


The Chairman of Idah Local Government Area in Kogi State, Alhaji Alfa Halilu has suspended Mr. Sylvester Ukwumonu Ojogbane, the Chief of Staff to the Council.

Ojogbane was suspended for allegedly selling a Local Government Property (Old Corpers Lodge) at Bishop Road Junction in Idah.

The Idah LGA boss has constituted a seven man investigative committee, chaired by one Abdul Meyanga, to probe the allegation.

The committee’s members include
Abdul Meyanga (Chairman),
Mrs Grace Paka Ogala, (Secretary), Memunat Sule, S. S. Alkali, Victor Eida and
Pastor Melkidezek Elisha.

In the interim, Comrade Bala Musa Eleojo has been appointed with immediate effect to act as the Chief of Staff, pending the report and resolution of the investigative committee.

“This action demonstrates my administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and good governance in Idah Local Government Council,” Halilu added.
