Kylian Mbappe is already shining Real Madrid shirts.
Expected future Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe signed a lucky fan of the club’s shirt while on international duty with France, further communicating that he will indeed complete a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain to the La Liga giants in the coming weeks, if not days.
Mbappe told PSG that he will not renew his contract with them which expires on June 30, and later revealed this decision via a video address.
The football world knows that the Bernabeu is highly likely to be Mbappe’s next destination barring a major surprise that would turn it upside down like the Frenchman did in 2022.
In the spring of that year, Mbappe was again linked with a move to Madrid only to ditch President Florentino Perez at the alter and renew terms with PSG.
“It was more than just staying at PSG. It was the World Cup in Qatar. It was many things around these things. It was a big decision, a difficult decision … but I don’t regret anything,” Mbappe explained to CNN about the matter this week, after winning the Best Men’s Player at the Globe Soccer Awards Europe Edition.
“Of course, in a career, you have to take difficult decisions and it’s what I did, but I became the all-time top scorer with PSG. I just want to remember the best things … It was not an easy situation and I wish nobody to live that,” he added.
Mbappe won’t be going through such a thing again, however, as he further revealed.
“I want to be happy,” he said. “I will leave my country for the first time. It’s going to be an amazing experience and I can’t wait to be in my new club. I want to win trophies … When you speak about football, [it’s about] winning trophies, being with new teammates.”
Though an announcement from Madrid and Mbappe is expected either before or after the European Championships, the 25-year-old has already taken a major step by signing a lucky fan’s Los Blancos shirt.
The youngster approached the forward as he took part in Les Bleus’ first training session for the mentioned tournament at Clairefontaine.
With Mbappe leading the charge, France will take on Luxembourg and Canada in preparation friendlies ahead of meeting Austria in Group D on June 17 as the Euros get underway in Germany.
