Honourable Mojisola Meranda has returned as the Deputy Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly.
Meranda will serve alongside Honourable Mudashiru Obasa, who has been reinstated as Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly.
She was nominated as Deputy Speaker after resigning as Speaker on Monday.
It should be recalled that Obasa was reinstated as Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly on Monday.
This development means that the House’s leadership has reverted to its previous state before Obasa’s impeachment in February 2025 over corruption allegations.
Obasa and Meranda had been at odds over the Lagos State Speakership for the past few weeks.
In a TVC video, the Honourable Desmond Elliot was visibly emotional and struggled to hold back tears while pleading for another lawmaker to be called to speak.
