Manchester United and Premier League rivals offered chance to sign Ligue 1 goal machine in cut-price transfer

Manchester United, Tottenham and Arsenal are among the clubs who have been offered the chance to sign Lille striker Jonathan David, talkSPORT understands.

Intermediaries working on behalf of David are keen to bring the Canada international to the Premier League.

It is thought David would cost just £30million as he enters the final year of his contract.

The 24-year-old enjoyed a fine 2023/24 season where he banged in 26 goals in all competitions, with 19 coming in Ligue 1 to fire Lille to fourth spot.

Since joining the French side in 2020, David has found the back of the net 84 times from 183 matches.

He helped Lille win the top-flight title in his opening campaign after banging in 13 Ligue 1 goals.

And he has just been as prolific on the international stage with Canada, where he is just three goals shy of equalling teammate Cyle Larin’s record of 29 strikes.

David started in Canada’s opening match against Argentina to kick off the 2024 Copa America, but couldn’t stop his side from losing 2-0.

United, Arsenal and Tottenham could all bolster their frontline this summer to provide competition for Rasmus Hojlund, Kai Havertz and Richarlison respectively.

The Red Devils and the Gunners were dealt a major blow when Slovenia starlet Benjamin Sesko snubbed interest to sign a new deal at RB Leipzig.

Erik ten Hag is also believed to be keen on Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee as they weigh up activating his £34m release clause.

As for Arsenal, Napoli marksman Victor Osimhen and Juventus centre-forward Dusan Vlahovic have emerged as possible alternatives to Sesko.

Tottenham meanwhile are believed to have been offered the chance to bring ex-Chelsea star Tammy Abraham back to the Premier League.
