Meghan Markle and Prince Harry in ‘complete overhaul’ as Netflix ‘loses interest’ | Royal | News

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry could soon face yet another headrest as Netflix is “losing interest” in the couple, according to a royal expert.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex signed an agreement with the streaming platform worth an estimated £100 million just a few months after they announced they would no longer be working royals.

The pair have since produced a documentary on their decision to quit the Royal Family titled Harry & Meghan as well as a documentary on Harry’s work with the Invictus Games.

However, the Duke and Duchess have repeatedly been challenged on their commitment to the deal and fuelled speculation the contract could soon be terminated.

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams claimed interest in the couple’s stories and work began to wane shortly after their docuseries was released last year.

He noted the couple is working on a series of new projects, including a lifestyle show on cookery and entertainment running parallel with the launch of Meghan’s new brand, American Riviera Orchard.

Harry, on the other hand, was seen filming for his new documentary on the world of polo – but Fitzwilliams argued the new projects might be too little, too late.

He told The Daily Mirror: “[The contract] runs out next year and Netflix are no longer producing the series of The Crown, as they previously were. They might therefore have less interest in the Sussexes.

“If they lost this contract, with Archewell, their business and charitable foundation, having so few donors, they might well be in financial trouble.
