Peter A.A Komba has taken his music to the next level after he has found fame as a TikToker. With over 3 million followers on TikTok, he had no problem finding a channel through which his music grew exponentially. But he believes his journey wouldn’t have been as good and straightforward as it is if not for the support of his family.
“I have five siblings, including my twin brother, Paul. My family are supportive of my passion for TikTok, music and acting and they encouraged me to pursue music and other careers,” he revealed.
“My sister was the one that inspired me to start doing TikTok videos on her phone. In 2020 I started using my own account and became famous with close to 3M followers. I decided to go into acting since I have a passion for it too, and I have done a couple of movies and some skits.”
With his popularity on TikTok, his debut single titled “Scatter” released in 2022 blew almost as soon as it was released coupled with the influence of Nigerian iconic producer, Mastercraft, who produced the song under P-Kay’s record label, Cribs International.
“TikTok basically made me, because I was a very shy guy but TikTok made people get to know me and I feel very comfortable with it. When I released my first single, people already knew who I was so it was easy. TikTok gave my music career a great lift and I’m only just getting started,” he said.
Peter A.A Komba who is musically known by the stage name, P-Kay was born on July 20, 2002, as Peter Umar Komba in Freetown where he developed a love for music but his TikToking laid the foundation for his prominence as a music artist. With “Scatter” it appears he has signed his name on the African music register.
The Sierra Leonean TikToker, influencer and content creator cum music artist once teamed up with Nigerian Samuel A. Perry popularly known as Broda Shaggi in a hilarious comedy skit titled “Sierra Leone Visitor”.
The comedy skit which also featured TV personalities from AYV Media Empire, Michelle Marina Jaward and others like Broda Alhaji Suberu and David Skima was written and directed by Broda Shaggi and his crew.
Peter A.A Komba came to the limelight after his second video challenge called ‘Duduke Challenge’ with a unique dance step that went viral on Tik Tok. The duduke’s song that went viral on Tiktok was sung by a popular Nigerian female artiste called Simi after dancing to the Duduke mix with unique steps.
This challenge helped him to gain millions of followers and likes in 2021. Peter AA Komba is currently regarded as the most followed Tiktoker in Sierra Leone.
