Katsina State Governor, Dr. Dikko Radda, has said his administration is not perfect and, therefore, welcomes constructive criticisms that would help transform the socio-economic fortunes of the state.
Radda stated this late Monday night at an award and dinner event held at the Presidential Banquet Hall, Government House, to celebrate the 37th anniversary of the creation of the state.
The event, which had important dignitaries within and outside the state in attendance, also saw several civil servants who had excelled in their work rewarded with cash and cars.
He said his administration, which has been in office for a year and a few months, had executed various projects that have had a positive impact on the lives of the people.
He also mentioned that several of these projects were ongoing, including those in the Agriculture, Health, Education, and Youth Empowerment sectors.
Radda, however, noted that despite these achievements, his administration cannot be said to be perfect, as it is bound to make mistakes since it is run by humans.
He, therefore, called for constructive criticisms that would help his government improve, while also asking for recognition where his administration had done the right things.
“We have executed various projects that have had a positive impact on the lives of the people, and we are doing more projects that will help bring the needed development to the state.
“As humans, we are not perfect, and we are bound to make mistakes. Please, let us know when we make mistakes, as we are open to constructive criticisms.
“Also, let us know when we are doing the right things so that we will be encouraged to do more for the people of the state,” he added.
Radda also commended past leaders of the state for their efforts in the creation of Katsina 37 years ago, adding that their contributions would remain etched in the hearts of the people.

He said the state is one of the most blessed in Nigeria, having produced two presidents, one of whom ruled the country on two occasions, as well as several judges, politicians, and businessmen since its creation in 1987.
He assured that his administration would continue to build on the legacies of its past leaders, particularly those of the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, who was a governor and his political mentor.
During the event, 14 selected civil servants were rewarded for their outstanding excellence in the discharge of their assigned duties.
While four of them received a car each, the remaining 10 were given N2 million each.
