The Jigawa State Police Command has launched investigations into the gruesome murder of a newlywed woman and a 14-year-old almajiri, whose headless body was discovered in Gwaram Local Government Area.
This was contained in a statement issued on Thursday in Dutse by the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Shi’isu Adam.
According to the statement, the first incident involved a newly married woman, Zainab Ibrahim, 22, who was found unconscious in a pool of blood at her matrimonial home in Warware Quarters, Hadejia LGA.
“The Hadejia Divisional Police Officer led a team to the scene, where they discovered a deep cut on her throat,” Adam stated.
Zainab was immediately rushed to General Hospital Hadejia, where she was pronounced dead. The police have since begun an investigation to identify and arrest those responsible.
Similarly, the police discovered the mutilated and headless body of a 14-year-old almajiri, Bashir Adamu, along Jikas-Dabaja village in Gwaram LGA.
“The corpse was identified by relatives, who reported that Bashir had been missing for two days,” Adam disclosed.
Police suspect the boy was killed by ritualists, and an investigation is underway to track down the perpetrators.
“The command is working tirelessly to ensure that those behind these heinous crimes are brought to justice,” the statement added.
The Jigawa State Police Command reassured the public that all necessary efforts were being made to uncover the motives behind the killings and apprehend those responsible.
