Nigeria Navy impounds 2 wooden boats, several drums containing illegally refined AGO


The Nigeria Navy said its personnel of Operation DELTA SANITY, Forward Operating Base FORMOSO discovered and impounded 2 wooden boats laden with a large quantity of stolen crude oil concealed in shrubs and palm leaves in Bilibiri, Ekeremor LGA, Bayelsa State.

This was contained in a post on its Facebook page.

It said, “On Wednesday 26 February, 2025, Forward Operating Base LEKKI discovered and impounded several drums containing illegally refined AGO at Ibeju Lekki, Lagos State.

“On Wednesday 26 February, 2025, Forward Operating Base FORMOSO discovered and deactivated an illegal refining site with 3 refining ovens, 3 receiving units and 3 dug out pits laden with an unspecified amount of stolen crude oil at Clough creek, Ekeremo LGA, Bayelsa State.

“On Tuesday 25 February, 2025, Forward Operating Base ESCRAVOS discovered and deactivated 4 refining sites with 4 refining ovens, 9 dug out pits, and numerous sacks of illegally refined AGO and stolen crude oil in Obodo Omadino, Warri LGA, Delta State.”
